Sharp-nose garden eel
The sharp-nose garden eel〔(Common names of ''Gorgasia taiwanensis'' ) at www.fishbase.org.〕 (''Gorgasia taiwanensis'') is an eel in the family Congridae (conger/garden eels).〔(''Gorgasia taiwanensis'' ) at www.fishbase.org.〕 It was described by Shao Kwang-Tsao in 1990.〔Shao, K.-T., 1990 (28 Dec.) (19169 ) ''Garden eels from Taiwan, with description of a new species.'' Uo (Japanese Society of Ichthyology) No. 40: 1-16.〕 It is a marine, subtropical eel which is known from Taiwan (from which its species epithet is derived) and southern Japan, in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. It is non-migratory, and dwells at a depth range of . Males can reach a maximum total length of . It can be identified by the shape of its snout.〔
